The Export LLM-ready brief feature lets you download a fully structured content brief - built from RankDots' keyword data, competitor analysis, and content settings - and use it in any AI writing tool of your choice, such as ChatGPT, Claude, or a proprietary in-house solution.
This is particularly useful for agencies and teams that have established AI workflows outside of RankDots, but still want to leverage RankDots' research and strategic analysis as the foundation for their content.
Where to find the button
The Export LLM-ready content brief button appears in two contexts:
- Content Settings screen - the primary location where brief generation is initiated
- Outline screen - available after your outline has been generated, allowing you to include the content structure in your brief
The button also appears as a teaser on the Pages list and Page Detail screens. Clicking it from those screens takes you directly to the Content Settings screen - the same flow as clicking Create content - without automatically starting brief generation. Note that each click on the button from Pages or Page Detail screens counts toward your document creation limit.
How to generate and export a brief
- Open a Page in your project and click Create LLM-ready content brief (or navigate through Create content > Content Settings)
- Configure your Content Settings as you normally would (content type, language, tone, target audience, word count, search intent)
- Optionally, proceed to the Outline step to generate a content outline - this unlocks the Suggested Outline section in your brief
- Click Export LLM-ready brief - a modal window will open with export options
- Choose your format and sections, then click Export
- The file downloads automatically to your browser's downloads folder
You will see a confirmation toast notification:
✓ Content brief generated! Check your browser's downloads folder.
