Site Audit uses your Google Search Console data as its primary input. You connect GSC once per project, and Site Audit automatically uses that connection to pull your site's performance data.
Steps to connect GSC
- Open your project and navigate to Site Audit
- Click Connect GSC in the empty state screen
- Sign in with the Google account that has access to your GSC property
- Select the GSC property that corresponds to your website
Choosing the right property
GSC has two property types, and both are supported:
| Type | Format | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Domain property | sc-domain:yourdomain.com | sc-domain:example.com |
| URL-prefix property | Full URL with protocol | https://www.example.com |
If you have multiple properties in your GSC account, select the one that best matches your project's target domain. Domain properties are preferred where available because they capture all subdomains and protocols in one view.
After connecting
Once GSC is connected, Site Audit will begin running automatically - pulling your search data, analyzing topic coverage, and building your action plan. This can take up to 10 minutes depending on your site's size.
