After Site Audit completes, the Summary section at the top of the page gives you a high-level overview of your action plan and traffic opportunity.
Summary metrics
| Metric | What it means |
|---|---|
| Actions in plan | Total number of active recommendations in your plan |
| Pages to fix | Number of Underperforming recommendations - existing pages that need improvement |
| Quick wins | Number of Quick Win recommendations - fast fixes with high impact |
| Articles to create | Number of Missing Content recommendations - new pages to build |
| Visits/mo to capture | Total estimated monthly traffic you could gain by completing all actions in the plan |
| URLs from GSC | Number of page-query combinations analyzed from your GSC data |
Plan limit note: Your plan determines how many page-query combinations from GSC can be analyzed. Larger sites may not have all pages included - RankDots prioritizes your highest-traffic pages first (sorted by clicks, then impressions).
Top 3 recommendations
The three highest-priority recommendations (by potential traffic impact, with Active status) are highlighted at the top of the page for quick access. Each shows the action type, the URL or topic involved, and the estimated traffic opportunity. Click any of them to open the full recommendation details.
Understanding Recommendation Categories
Every recommendation in Site Audit belongs to one of five categories. The category tells you what kind of problem RankDots has found.
Category overview
| Category | What it means |
|---|---|
| Missing content | Topics your competitors rank for that you have no page for yet. Creating these pages can capture new traffic. |
| Underperforming | Pages that rank but need work - deeper content, better titles, or dedicated pages to reach their potential. |
| Site structure | Pages covering too many topics at once, or topics that need their own dedicated page to rank properly. |
| Quick wins | Small fixes with fast results - title tweaks or adding missing content to pages already close to position 1. |
| Protect | Pages that are performing well. No changes needed - protect what's working. |
Action types
Each recommendation also has a specific action that tells you what to do:
| Action | What it means |
|---|---|
| Create new page | Write a new article targeting an uncovered topic |
| Expand content | Add missing keywords and subtopics to an existing page |
| Optimize title | Adjust the title tag to improve CTR without changing page content |
| Rewrite title | Rewrite the title with a stronger value proposition |
| Create dedicated page | Break a topic out of an overloaded page into its own focused page |
| Protect | Leave this page "as-is" - it is ranking well |
| Split page | Divide a page that covers too many topics into multiple dedicated pages |
